March 14, Palazzo Strozzi hosts a splendid exhibition – organized by the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles and the National Gallery of Art in Washington with the collaboration of the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Tuscany – dedicated to the Hellenistic statuary. Power and pathos. Bronzes of the Hellenistic world illustrates, through the exhibition of exceptional examples of bronze statues, the development of art Hellenistic Age, spread throughout the Mediterranean and beyond, between the fourth and the first century, the period in which it claimed new forms of expression and composition along with a great development of artistic techniques, representing an early form of globalization of languages of the then known world.

Power and pathos sees gathered at Palazzo Strozzi some of the greatest masterpieces of the ancient world from the most important Italian and international archaeological museums like the National Archaeological Museum of Florence, the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, the British Museum of London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, the Musée du Louvre in Paris, the Vatican Museums
